The BREIA (Black River Environmental Improvement
Association) Cross-Country Ski Trails are located south of the Village
of Boonville. There are approximately 30 miles of groomed, tracked trails.
The majority of the trail system is designed for the novice skier, although
there are trails for all levels of skiing from novice to expert. There
is night skiing on Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm at Erwin Park
in Boonville.
There are parking areas at the beginning and end of the Canal Trail, off
Route 46 near the intersection of Holmes Road, on Domser Road, Potato
Hill Road and Echo Lake Road, and three areas along Jackson Hill Road.
There are also areas of the town and county roads which have been widened
to allow for parking. When parking on the side of the road, park only
on one side. For more information see USGS 7.5’ Boonville quadrangle.
A brochure with a trail map is also available from BREIA at 11903 Potato
Hill Road, Boonville, NY 13309.
