The Trenton Greenbelt Trails are located on approximately 200-acres of relatively undeveloped land east of Holland Patent, in the Town of Trenton, Oneida County. The Greenbelt is a combination of public and private lands protected from development pressures by a variety of conservation easements and trust agreements. Landowners involved in the Greenbelt project are not compensated for letting the public use the ski and hiking trails which cross their land. It is important that their generosity be respected, and that the land be protected. Please travel only on marked trails, carry out what you carry in, and do not cut, damage, or remove trees or plants. Camp and cooking fires are not permitted. Use of motorized vehicles and mountain bikes is not permitted. Approximately 2.5 miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails are clearly marked. Most trails are of average difficulty—however, note a few steep areas marked on the trail map.

Directions: Major routes to the Greenbelt trails include Route 365 from Rome and Route 12 from Utica. In Holland Patent, turn east onto Powell Road. Take a left onto Hinman Road, another left onto Sand Ridge Road, and a last left onto Wood Road. From the Mapledale commercial area on Route 12, head west on Mapledale Road. Take a left onto Sand Ridge Road, and a right onto Wood Road.
